The general day to day FAQs

The date I want isn’t available, why? +
Some cakes require more time to make, prepare and decorate than others. Which means that the next available date shown on the calendar is the next date we can have that particular cake order done for you. At times we also may need to close off any further orders for that week due to us being fully booked.
What Are Your Opening Hours? +
Monday-Saturday 730am-5pm
(Thursday nights till 7pm)
Sunday 9am-4pm
Times For Cake Orders and Enquiries in Store +
We are currently experiencing a large amount of custom cake enquiries and are not always available in store to take walk -in custom cake orders or enquiries. We encourage you to email ricky@polespatisserie.com.au to arrange an appointment with one of our cake specialists in store. Alternatively we recommend you complete our enquiry form via our Customs Cakes Page on our website, one of our cake specialists will then be in touch with you within 48 hours.
Do You Offer Cake Toppers? +
Yes. We have a wide range of cake toppers to suit any occasion. Such as ‘Happy Birthday,’ ‘Congratulations!’, and a range of numbers. Starting from $20 each, you can create your own cake topper when ordering your cake – 4 days notice is required for a custom cake topper.
Do You Offer Gluten-Free (GF) Products And Cakes? +
Yes! We have a variety of single serve GF products available daily in store. We also offer GF cakes and cupcakes, many of our cakes online will offer you a GF option if available.
Do You Offer Dairy-Free or Vegan Products? +
Currently we do not offer dairy-free or vegan products, however, we are looking into these products for the future.
Do You Offer Sugar-Free Products? +
No at this point, however, we are looking into how to make sugar free and yet indulgent products.
Do You Use Fresh Or Mock Cream In Your Products? +
We use both types of cream depending on the product. Feel free to ask our friendly team about which type of cream is used for each product. YES, our Cream buns are made with FRESH CREAM, come have one like in the old days!
What Type Of Coffee Do You Use? +
We use Adore Coffee Mastro Blend. The Adore Mastro is a great choice for someone who favours notes of salted caramel, toffee and milk chocolate. This distinctive blend is derived from their Master Roaster using 100% prized Arabica beans from Central & South America. It delivers a low acidity, round, and rich full-bodied flavor that you will love and is perfect with a variety of milks.
Do You Sell Decaffeinated Coffee? +
Yes. Our decaf coffee is Mountain Blend from Adore Coffee Roasters.
Do You Offer Variety On Milks For The Coffee? +
We certainly do: Full Cream, Skinny, BonSoy, Almond (Milk Lab), Full Cream Zymil as Lactose Free and Oat.
What Kind Of Tea Do You Have Available? +
We offer a nice range of Silver Tip tea flavors, including: English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Peppermint, Camomile, Chai Tea, Green Jasmine Tea and Wild Berry.

Picking Up Orders FAQs

What do I need to bring to pick up my order? +
All you are required is to provide one of our team with the 4 digit order number. Please note that we orgnanise our cakes ready for collection by order number. Not by names or phone numbers. So please make sure to have this 4 digit number when collecting your order.
Can my husband/sister/son/etc pick up my order? +
YES! Anyone who has your order number can come and collect your order, so please make sure to keep this safe from strangers and only give it to the person picking up the cake on your behalf.
Should I check my order when picking it up? +
YES! Please note that once the order has left our premises we do not take any responsibility for any damage and or dislikes to your order. If you have a concern when you view your order when collecting, please ask for one of our shift supervisors so we can assist you further. NOTE: if you are sending someone to pick up the cake, make sure they send you a picture of the order and that you are happy with it, as once it has left our store we take no responsibility for damage or issues with design etc.
Can I pick up my order at a different time than the one requested when I place my order? +
You can only pick up your cake from the time requested, not earlier, unless approved via email to ricky@polespatisserie.com.au with at least 1 business day notice. However, you can pick up any time after the time requested until 30 min prior to our closing times. NOTE: We are not responsible to call and remind you to collect your order. We take no responsibility if you did not collect your order or have arrived to collect your order after our closing time.

Delivery FAQs

Do You Deliver? +
Yes! We deliver to most Sydney Suburbs.
Why don't you deliver to my area? +
Please note we use a courier company that advises us where they deliver to. Although we may deliver to your postcode, we may not deliver to your particular suburb within that postcode. This is due to the fact that many postcodes cover a large area. We do apologise for this, however, it’s just not possible to deliver to all areas.
Can I request a delivery time? +
No Sorry! We do not offer specific delivery times, our delivery window is from 12-5pm on the delivery day.
How do I know what time my order will be delivered? +
On your delivery date at around 1130am-1230pm you will receive an SMS tracking link, once you click on this one you will be able to have a better ETA of the delivery time, please be aware we don't know this prior as the ETA for delivery will depend on the driver's route.
Do I need to be home to accept the delivery? +
YES! There must be someone at the location selected to accept the delivery, if no one is there to accept the delivery, your order will return to our premises and you will need to come and collect it from our store between 4-5pm. We can organise a redelivery for the next day for an additional $50 with the same delivery terms agreed before.
Do you deliver to schools, hospitals and businesses? +
YES we do! As long as the person receiving this package is aware of delivery and can accept it without any problems, then there is no issue delivering to one of the places mentioned above.

Speciality & Custom Cakes FAQs

How many days' notice do I need before placing my speciality or custom cake? +
Now this is a tricky question. We always recommend people to book as early as possible. We often need to close off any further orders for a particular week as we are at capacity and fully booked out. Please note that even if one of our cake specialists has quoted you and the day is available at the time of quoting, until payment is made your spot is not secure or confirmed. This means if you take a few days to reply or make payment, it is possible that we fully book out during this time and would then not be able to make your cake. In saying this, most weeks we are able to take cake orders up to 3 days prior to the day you need it, of course depending on the complexity of the cake or if we become fully booked.
What Types Of Cakes Are Used For Your Custom Speciality Cakes? +
All the flavors available are Butter Cake, which lets say is something in-between a sponge cake and a mud cake. Definitely moist.

I like one of your designs but I want to make some changes, is that possible? +
YES it is! Most cakes offered online under speciality cakes will have the option to color swap, this means you can request the same cake with minimal changes. Now, if you are looking to make more changes to one of our cakes, the best practice will be to save that image of the cake and complete the form on our custom cake page via our website, where you can upload the image and specify more of the changes required. One of our cake specialists will give you a new price depending on the changes requested.
What Are The Sizes Of Your Cakes? +
Our single height cakes are approximately 3.5-4 inches in height. If they are a DH (Double Height) then they will be around 7-8 inches in height. (Please note not all our cakes online are offered in the DH size, you can always ask for a custom cake to be made if the cake online is not offered in DH size - to do this complete the custom cake form via our website) We then give you the option of which diameter you would like which will help you with serving quantities. You can also check out the serving quantity guide in the next Question.
How Many Does Your Size Cake Feed? +
This is a guide. Coffee Slices is considered a small slice and Dessert Slices is considered larger slice.
Do You Offer Gluten-Free (GF) Products And Cakes? +

Do you Do Wedding Cakes? +
Absolutely! Wedding cakes are our specialty. Our talented team will work closely with you to design, prepare, and serve a beautiful wedding cake just for you. You can choose from our existing designs or present a custom design to suit the occasion. The only limit is your imagination! It is preferable to meet in person when it comes to ordering your wedding cake, so ideally email ricky@polespatisserie.com.au to organise a 1 to 1.5hr appointment with one of our cake specialists.
Can You Recreate Cake Designs From A Picture? +
Gotcha! Our amazing cake decorator can definitely recreate most cake designs you have seen online or in the past!
